SAN processing aid is a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer based additive specially used for rigid PVC processing. It appears as white flowing powder and features good compatibility with PVC resin. This kind of processing aid can effectively promote plasticization of PVC melt, reduce melt viscosity and improve fluidity during extrusion and injection molding, while enhancing melt strength and drawing resistance to avoid melt fracture and sagging problems in production. It also improves the surface smoothness and gloss of finished products, reduces flow marks and shrinkage marks, and endows products with better rigidity and dimensional stability. With moderate cost and excellent comprehensive performance, SAN processing aid can partially replace ACR processing aids; it is widely applied in PVC pipes, profiles, plates, WPC wood-plastic materials and high-filled PVC formulations, with a usual addition dosage of 1.0 3.0 phr in standard PVC formulas.
