About PVC foam board foaming regulator
Foam regulator for PVC foam board is a type of ultra-high molecular weight acrylic copolymer (ACR) core processing aid designed specifically for the extrusion process of rigid PVC foam. By accurately controlling the rheological properties of the melt, it solves the problems of cell rupture, co foaming, collapse, and surface defects caused by short PVC molecular chains and low melt strength. It is a key additive for obtaining uniform cell structure and stable surface quality.
The core contradiction of foaming is the match between "bubble expansion" and "melt strength". This regulator achieves stable foaming through three main functions:
Improving melt strength and elasticity: Ultra high molecular weight long chains are wrapped around PVC molecular chains to form a mesh structure, enhancing the cohesion of the melt, effectively encapsulating foaming gas, preventing bubble coalescence, rupture, or escape, and forming uniform honeycomb like bubbles.
Regulation of plasticization and gel: Promote the uniform plasticization of PVC resin, fully dissolve and evenly nucleate the gas decomposed by foaming agent, balance the plasticization speed and foaming time, and avoid early foaming or insufficient plasticization.
Optimize surface and processability: improve melt flowability and ductility, reduce surface cracking caused by extrusion traction, and enhance skin smoothness and glossiness; Simultaneously optimize the dispersion of additives to reduce defects such as "shark skin" and "fish eyes".
