About Low density OPE wax for CPVC


Low density oxidized polyethylene wax (low-density OPE wax) is a CPVC specific balanced processing lubricant, suitable for processing pain points such as high chlorine content, high melt viscosity, easy overheating decomposition, difficult demolding, and narrow plasticizing window of CPVC. The addition amount is usually 0.3-1.2 parts.
1. Lubrication balance, suitable for CPVC high viscosity melt
Molecules with carboxyl and hydroxyl polar groups have much better compatibility with polar CPVC than ordinary PE wax; Combining  internal lubrication and external lubrication : polar chain segments infiltrate between CPVC molecules to reduce melt viscosity, gently promote uniform plasticization, and avoid undercooling; The non-polar low-density branch segments migrate to the interface between the melt and the screw, forming a lubricating film at the metal interface of the die, reducing sticking to the die, lowering die head pressure and extrusion torque, expanding the stable processing range, and preventing high-temperature shear degradation of CPVC.
2.  Improve processing stability and production efficiency
Low density structure has lower viscosity, low high temperature volatility, good thermal stability, and is suitable for high processing temperatures of CPVC; Under high-speed extrusion/injection molding, it is not easy to accumulate carbon, reduce mold mouth precipitation, improve mid to late stage demolding, and reduce mold blockage, scratches, and pitting defects; Reduce equipment friction loss, improve extrusion line speed, suitable for the production of CPVC cold and hot water supply pipes, chemical pipe fittings, and transparent injection molded parts.
3. Improve product appearance and filler dispersion
Polar functional groups enhance the dispersion uniformity of calcium carbonate and color powder, without fisheye or color difference; After cooling, it slightly migrates to the surface of the product, improving the gloss and smoothness of the pipe/fitting surface. The transparent CPVC system has a minimal increase in haze, which is better than the complex system of Fischer Tropsch wax and ordinary PE wax.
4. Formula adaptation advantages
Good compatibility with calcium zinc and organotin stabilizers, without interfering with the CPVC thermal stability system; Compared to high-density oxidized wax, plasticization is softer and less prone to melting, resulting in a decrease in product strength; Can replace imported A-C629A high-end oxidized wax, simplify lubrication formula, and reduce the cost of multiple wax compound debugging.
5.  Precautions for use
Excessive addition can cause later precipitation and reduce the heat resistance and adhesive strength of CPVC Vicat; A small amount of external sliding is required to fine tune the plasticizing speed, ensuring that the fusion degree of CPVC is controlled within a reasonable range and balancing mechanical and temperature resistance performance.
