ACR 175 PVC lubricating processing aid About
ACR-175 is a lubricating grade of acrylic processing aid specifically designed for PVC processing. By incorporating lubricating components into the molecular structure of standard plasticizing ACR, it offers the dual benefits of accelerating PVC gelation and reducing adhesion between the melt and processing equipment surfaces. Its use significantly improves melt flow, lowers processing torque and extruder load, and minimizes plate-out and die buildup, resulting in a superior surface finish. Compared to standard ACR grades (such as 401), ACR-175 exhibits a slightly slower plasticization rateshowing a tendency for delayed plasticizationmaking it particularly suitable for formulations requiring high thermal stability.
Typical applications include PVC profiles, pipes, sheets, and cable sheathing; it is especially well-suited for high-speed extrusion lines and high-filler formulations (such as those with high calcium carbonate content). The typical dosage is 1 to 3 parts per 100 parts of PVC resin, and it is commonly used in conjunction with CPE, stabilizers, and paraffin wax. Note that excessive addition can lead to insufficient plasticization, which may actually compromise the physical properties of the finished product. In short, ACR-175 is essentially an "ACR with lubricating properties" that facilitates PVC plasticization, prevents material sticking, and ensures a smooth surface finish, making it a popular choice for high-speed extrusion and high-filler formulations.
